Glass is very fragile.  We suggest very large and/or expensive vases be packed by an Allstate mover. 

You may place a rolled towel or place soft linen inside your vase prior to wrapping securely with paper and taping the paper down (which adds additional protection to the possibility of shattering the vase)  Be sure to pad around the vase when packing in a box.
